| The air pump switchover is actuated directly with a ground signal by the ME control unit when air injection is enabled (N3/10. Here the anchor plate (a) is pulled by the electromagnet (d) and the sealing rubber (f) shuts off connection 1 | The connection between port 2 and port 3 is opened. Thus there is a vacuum built up from the intake pipe to the aspirator shutoff valves.
In the deenergized state the link again exists between connection 1 and 3 through which air is admitted at connection 3. |
