a Electronic module (hybrid)
b Hall sensor
c Deflection/extension and mass element (magnets)
d Measuring spring
e Anti-squeal plate

The acceleration sensor (B24/2) contains an electronic module (a) which is used for signal acquisition. The measuring principle of the acceleration sensor is based on a deflection/extension and mass system. A Hall sensor (b) is integrated in the electronic module. Above the sensor is a deflection/extension and mass element (d, c). The deflection of the deflection/extension and mass element above the Hall sensor (b) to the left or right generates a signal.

    P42.45-0241-05

When the vehicle is cornering, the lateral forces which occur during lateral acceleration move the deflection/extension and mass element (magnet) from its neutral position.   The Hall sensor element detects this change in position and alters the voltage signal accordingly.
