Task
The activated charcoal filter shutoff valve closes off ventilation / venting of the activated charcoal canister to allow a leaktightness test on the fuel system (leak test). Design The activated charcoal filter shutoff valve consists of a solenoid which closes the activated charcoal filter shutoff valve when gases are flowing. Additionally a mechanical safety valve is installed. |
Function
The activated charcoal canister shutoff valve is actuated at the ground end by the ME control unit (N3/10) to conduct a leak test. If the activated charcoal canister shutoff valve is faulty (the valve does not open anymore) then a mechanical safety valve takes over aeration of the activated charcoal canister (from about -25 mbar). |
